How to Deal with Enemies (Haters)
Monday 09/16/2013
Cain was jealous of Able. Aaron was jealous of Moses. Saul was jealous of David. Joseph brothers, “The Sons of Jacob” was jealous of Joseph because he was a dreamer.
(As it is written Genesis 37:18-20)
18 And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him.
19 And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.
20 Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.
Webster dictionary defines Envy, jealousy, is to be Resentful awareness of another’s advantage: Suspicious of a rival or of one believe to enjoy an advantage.
This is what we call in today’s terminology “HATERS”. Why do people hate on you when it was your table they sat and ate at when they didn’t have food. It was you running to pick them up when their vehicle broke down. It was you loaning them money because of poor management skills in their finances. It was you celebrating them on their big day or huge accomplishment now that it is your turn they’re nowhere to be found. How should you overcome this?
In Matthews 5:44 as it is wriitten, But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Joseph ended up being the second man in Egypt which put him in the position to take care of the same brothers that plotted to kill him. What if Joseph retaliated he would have miss the blessing. Don’t let your enemies make you miss the blessing. Because God is about to prepare a table for you in the presents of your enemies and you better eat…..Our word for week is “Don’t miss your Blessing.”
